CheckThenList Privacy Policy
2026-08-09
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how CheckThenList collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, create an account, submit product listing or marketplace notice content for analysis, use scan or export features, purchase a paid plan, or contact us.
CheckThenList is an independently operated software service primarily intended for business and professional users, including online merchants and marketplace sellers.
For privacy or data-rights requests, contact privacy@checkthenlist.com. For general product or account support, contact support@checkthenlist.com.
2. Information We Process
Account information. When you sign in with Google, we may receive information made available through the authentication process, such as your account identifier, email address, name, profile image, locale, and session-related metadata. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Listing, notice, and scan content. We process information you submit for analysis, such as product titles, descriptions, categories, tags, attributes, marketplace information, policy notices, and related text. Public batch upload currently supports CSV and XLSX files.
We do not retain the original CSV or XLSX file as a stored file after its contents are read for processing. We may retain parsed or normalized content, scan items, findings, evidence references, suggested revisions, notice analyses, appeal drafts, exports, and results so that you can view historical records and use the Service.
Usage and technical information. We may process limited information needed to operate and secure the Service, such as scan identifiers, marketplace selection, plan and quota usage, timestamps, request and error information, security events, browser or device characteristics, and approximate network information.
Billing information. Paid transactions are handled through Creem, which acts as the merchant of record for transactions processed through its checkout. Creem and its payment partners process payment details. CheckThenList does not store full payment-card numbers. We may receive subscription and transaction status needed to provide paid access and support.
Support information. If you contact us, we process the information you provide and information reasonably necessary to respond.
Please do not submit passwords, API keys, full payment-card details, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive personal information that is not necessary to use the Service.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- authenticate users and maintain accounts;
- analyze listings and marketplace notices and provide requested results;
- provide single and batch scans, evidence, suggested revisions, exports, and account history;
- administer usage limits, subscriptions, and paid access;
- provide customer support and service communications;
- prevent abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
- diagnose errors and maintain Service reliability;
- comply with applicable law and lawful requests; and
- improve the Service using aggregated, de-identified, or otherwise appropriately protected information.
CheckThenList does not sell User Content, use User Content for advertising, or use User Content to train its own general-purpose AI models.
4. AI-Assisted Processing
Some features use third-party AI service providers to analyze submitted content and generate findings, explanations, suggested revisions, or draft responses.
We limit the information sent to AI providers to content reasonably necessary to perform the requested analysis, such as relevant listing or marketplace notice text and policy context. We do not intentionally send payment-card information or authentication credentials to AI providers for analysis.
Third-party AI providers process information under their own terms, privacy practices, technical settings, and retention rules. If we materially change how User Content is processed by AI providers, we will update this Policy or provide an appropriate additional notice.
AI-assisted results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. They are not legal advice, an official marketplace decision, or a guarantee that a listing will be approved, remain active, or avoid enforcement action.
5. Service Providers and Disclosures
We use third-party service providers where reasonably necessary to operate the Service. These may include:
- cloud hosting, database, storage, and infrastructure providers;
- authentication and identity providers;
- payment, subscription, and merchant-of-record providers;
- AI service providers used to perform requested analysis; and
- security, support, and other operational service providers.
These providers may process information only as reasonably necessary to provide their respective services, subject to their applicable terms, privacy practices, and legal obligations.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, investigate fraud or abuse, protect the Service or users, enforce our agreements, or complete a legitimate business transfer.
6. Retention and Deletion
We retain account information, parsed content, and results for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain account history, and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy.
When you delete a saved record, User Content and results associated exclusively with that record are deleted. Content that remains associated with another saved scan, notice, or other record may continue to be retained until that record is deleted or the information is otherwise no longer needed.
You may request deletion of your account and associated User Content by contacting privacy@checkthenlist.com. After a verified deletion request, we will delete or de-identify information that is no longer required, subject to legitimate retention needs.
Limited operational, usage, billing, security, fraud-prevention, audit, or dispute records may be retained when reasonably necessary or legally required. Routine backups and provider-managed records may also persist temporarily until they expire or are overwritten in the ordinary course.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, browser storage, or similar technologies needed for authentication, session security, language or interface preferences, abuse prevention, and core Service operation.
We do not currently use advertising cookies or behavioral advertising as part of the core Service. If we introduce optional analytics or marketing technologies that require additional notice or consent, we will provide the appropriate disclosure and controls.
8. No Sale or Behavioral Advertising
We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use User Content to build advertising profiles.
9. International Processing
CheckThenList is accessible internationally. Third-party providers supporting the Service may process information in countries different from where you are located. Where applicable law requires specific safeguards or notices for international transfers, we will apply them as required.
10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.
To make a privacy request, contact privacy@checkthenlist.com. We may need to verify your identity or account before fulfilling a request.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. No online service or transmission method is completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting your Google account, devices, and account access. Please report suspected account compromise or security issues to security@checkthenlist.com.
12. Age and Business Use
The Service is intended for business and professional users and is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase a paid plan.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service, data practices, or legal requirements change. The current version will show its effective or last-updated date. We will provide additional notice of material changes when required by applicable law.
